I love my homemade baked beans! This dish is packed with lean protein and fiber. It’s been one of my favorite recipes to make for over a decade. 

1 1/2 pounds of organic ground turkey cooked and drained
1 can of Great Northern White Beans rinsed and drained
1 can light red kidney beans rinsed and drained
1 can baked beans of your choice
1 onion diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
2-3 Tbs garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper

Heat oven to 250. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Place in a large baking dish or pan and cover with aluminum foil. Cook for 2 hours, stirring half way through. 
Cooking Variations: cook on 350 for one hour or cook in a slow cooker on low for 6 hours, high for 2-3 hours.

Serving size: 1/2 cup as a side dish, 2 cups as a meal. Serve alone, with rice, or on a bun. Great for large gatherings, freezes great.
