Since becoming certified as a Juice Guru, our family has been juicing at home consistently. Both John and I have issues with inflammation. Juicing has helped tremendously to reduce a good amount of it.
This recipe came about one morning when the nerves in John's amputated leg were firing off or, as some would say, madly twitching. It doesn't happen all the time, but the residual nerve pain from being an amputee can be pretty painful and debilitating.
Diet plays a huge role, and the right ingredients can support and reduce inflammation. Since fresh cold-pressed juice directly penetrates cells once consumed, this treatment was very beneficial in getting John out of his wheelchair and back onto his prosthetic leg. It's also great if you have joint issues.
What’s in it per serving: 8 oz. organic baby carrots 1 large organic apple cored 1/2 organic lemon peeled with white pith left on 1/2 inch ginger root peeled 1 serving Further Food Turmeric tonic (next best thing to turmeric root when unavailable).
Alternate ingredients in your juicer. Strain to remove residual pulp. If using Turmeric Tonic instead of turmeric root, blend or whisk it into the prepared juice.
Quick fact: If you juice and use a lot of apples, be sure to discard the seeds. They have trace amounts of cyanide in them, and if consumed in large quantities, they can create a health risk.
Happy Juicing!
